An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Reception administrator to join a forward thinking and innovative practice in the heart of Greenwich.
- General front of house reception duties
- Understanding and maximising the use of the clinical system (EMIS Web)
- Dealing with patient medical records in an efficient and confidential manner, acceptable to the Practice
- To be willing to be trained and become proficient in the use of the clinical system (EMIS Web).

Main duties of the job
- As a GP Receptionist you are at the centre of how our surgery operates, you will be the first contact point for our patients, so it is vital that professionalism and empathy is embedded within you.
- The role also includes;
- Greet patients and visitors to the practice
- booking & rescheduling of appointments using the EMIS systeminline with practice appointments procedures ensuing optimum efficiency of the appointment system.
- Triage appointment requests or other queries
- use a task based system, from the GPs and the nurses
- To communicate between the GPs, patients and hospital effectively
- Navigating various computer systems
- Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as request
- Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences
About us
We have a 6000-patient list size in a young diverse suburban patient population with wide ranging health needs. The practice is based off the Trafalgar Road and is easily accessible by public transport. practice located in central Greenwich.
Working collaboratively with our PCN, ICB and other neighbouring practices, our MDT team consists of a GP Partner, 6 associate GPs, 1 ANP, a Physician Associate, 2 Practice Nurses and a Clinical Pharmacist, who are very well supported by an established management and administrative team. The post holder will manage a diverse suburban patient caseload with wide ranging health needs, ensuring the highest standards of care.
We have partnered with Doctaly Assist (https://doctalyassist.com/) to develop digital pathways to improve access for our patients and we feel this role would suit receptionist who are looking to develop their leadership skills and get involved in service transformation. As part of this role you will develop a deep understanding of how General Practice contracting works, learn about Health Technology development and support digital transformation. One of our partners is the Primary Care Chief Clinical Information Officer and will be on hand to provide support and mentorship.
The practice also has a base in the John Morden Medical Centre in the centre of Morden College, Blackheath where we can offer additional services for the residents of Morden College and also all of our patients.
