eCONSULT ADMINISTRATOR

At Downend Health Group we are looking
to recruit, for approximately 20 hours per week, an enthusiastic, confident,
and motivated, eConsult
Administrator to join our busy eConsult Team.
The successful
candidate will work to provide an efficient, helpful and courteous appointment
service to our patient population of approximately 27,500. Using a Care Navigation system, tailored to
this practice, and the advice of a supporting GP they will confidentially
triage eConsult requests for clinical appointments, ensuring that these are
offered in order of medical priority and with the most appropriate clinician.
We provide
quality patient care in a welcoming and supportive environment. Excellent communication, customer care and
flexibility, as well as the ability to keep calm under pressure is essential,
as is a friendly personality.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will navigate patients' eConsultation to identify and prioritise the the patient needs for an appointment, and identify the relevant Community/Practice Healthcare Professional most appropriate to deal with the patient needs.

Downend Health Group was formed in 2018 due to the merger of two well established practices located in the suburbs of Bristol. The surgery operates from two purpose-built premises located less than a mile apart.
As one of the largest teaching GP Practices in Bristol, Downend Health Group (DHG) cares for over 27,000 patients and this number continues to rise each year.
This excellent facility offers patients a family friendly service with efficient and easy access to a highly trained team of health care professionals. The medical team comprises 12 Partners (10 GPs, and 2 Pharmacists)10 Salaried GPs, 4 Clinical Pharmacists, 6 Paramedics and a dedicated team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants. We are supported by our experienced Care Co-ordinator Team, Medicines Management Team, Administration Team and Reception Team who provide excellent support both front of house and behind the scenes.
The surgery provides modern healthcare services and both buildings offer calm, welcoming environment for patients, with enhanced and pleasant working conditions for clinicians and staff.
We use EMIS Web and electronic prescribing. We also use Docman scanning software to allow efficient scanning and letter management across both sites.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST
A) eConsult
Administration Team Member
- Working
within our eConsult Administration Team, the post holder will be responsible
for:
- Accessing eConsultations and filing them within
the patients EMIS records.
- Navigating the patient eConsultation through
Sentiers to:
o
Identify and prioritise the patient need for an
appointment.
o
Identify the relevant Community/Practice Healthcare
Professional most appropriate to deal with the patient needs.

Referrals to community healthcare professionals
i.e. community pharmacies

Sending links to self-help and wellbeing
support information via text message or email
-
Identifying the need for prior nursing
appointments i.e. bp, blood test, ECG, to ensure that clinicians have all the
information they require to enable them to consult effectively.

Co-ordinating foreign language interpreters,
when required, to facilitate clinical appointments.
-
Co-ordinating sign language interpreters, when
required, to facilitate clinical appointments.
-
Co-ordinating chaperones, when required, to
facilitate clinical appointments.
-
Notifying patients of their appointment
date/time via email, text, or telephone.

Ensuring appointments have been allocated the
appropriate slot types ie. face to face, telephone, urgent on the day or
routine.

Working with the team members to manage all relevant
tasks, emails and telephone calls

Directing all administrative queries received
via eConsult to the relevant teams.

Directing all nursing appointment requests to
the Patient Assistant Team.
The
team will receive the support of an eConsult/Nurse Support GP/Urgent Care Team
member who will work with them to triage patient concerns when the Sentiers
navigation tool does not provide clear guidance.
