Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our bank of vaccinators in preparation for our roaming COVID-19 and flu winter campaign, commencing in October 2026. Ideally, applicants will hold a Class C driving licence and be willing to drive the outreach vaccination van, although this is not an essential requirement.
The service is delivered via our outreach vaccinator van across Central and West Lancashire, providing COVID-19 and flu vaccinations alongside health and lifestyle advice. This includes blood pressure checks, smoking cessation support, and BMI assessment.
Our outreach service is designed to increase vaccination uptake across a range of community-based settings, ensuring healthcare is accessible, inclusive, and equitable for all populations.

Main duties of the job
Prepare vaccination areas, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organised environmentAdminister COVID-19 and flu vaccines safely and efficiently in line with current clinical guidance and protocolsCarry out patient assessments, obtain informed consent, and complete pre-vaccination health checksIdentify, manage, and appropriately escalate any clinical incidents or adverse reactionsMaintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in line with organisational requirementsSupport and reassure patients throughout the vaccination process, including providing aftercare advice where requiredDeliver health and lifestyle advice, including blood pressure checks, smoking cessation support, and BMI assessmentMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to infection prevention and control policies at all times
About us
We are a large, well established practice delivering a range of external and outreach services. This will be the second year we have delivered the roaming COVID19 and flu vaccination programme across Central and West Lancashire.
You will join a small, dedicated core team, working flexibly to provide a five day per week service, which will include some weekend working.
Previous vaccination experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as appropriate support and guidance will be provided.
