Position Unsworth Medical Centre, Bury
(with option for future potential Partnership discussion)
Unsworth Medical Centre is looking to recruit a salaried
GP for 6 sessions per week (Monday, Thursday and Friday).
The Practice is a GMS teaching practice providing primary
medical services to a population of approximately 7,200 patients. We work from
premises situated in the heart of Unsworth close to the centre of Bury with
easy access to the motorway network.
A competitive salary,
dependent on experience, will be offered to the right candidate with 6 weeks
annual leave pro rata (plus 1 week study leave per year pro rata).

Main duties of the job
Job Summary
The post holder will manage a caseload as per agreed workplan and
deal with a range of health needs in a primary care setting ensuring the
highest standards of care for all registered patients with a safe, caring,
responsive, effective and well-led approach.
The post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal
duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care,
ensuring the delivery of appropriate and evidence-based health care while
fulfilling the terms and requirements of a GMS Contract, Locally Commissioned
Services (LCS) contract and Primary Care Network DES Contract.

We are a friendly and family orientated practice with a supportive nursing and administrative team.
The team comprise of;
GP Partners, Practice Manager, Practice Nurses, HCSW, Phlebotomist, admin and reception staff.
We work collaboratively within the Whitefield and Unsworth PCN with our neighbouring practices, and ARRS colleagues from varied disciplines such as physio, pharmacy, AVS, mental health and social prescribing.

Clinical Responsibilities:
In
accordance with the workplan undertaken a variety of duties including;
v Face to face surgery consultations
v Routine telephone consultations and follow up calls re: test
results and queries
v Home visits
v Prescriptions - checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing
with prescription queries and synchronising medications and polypharmacy
(liaising with PCN pharmacy colleagues and local pharmacist).
v To prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing
formulary, all local and national guidelines appropriate for the presenting
condition. Use of scriptswitch
v Dealing with tasks assigned from EMIS/Docman in a timely,
efficient and effective manner
v Dealing with referrals completing appropriate clinical referral
templates and communicating effectively with the team on required actions
timely, efficiently and effectively
v Ensure records are clear, factual, coded appropriately, documented
contemporaneous notes are to agreed standards with clear clinical plan for
others to follow
v Work as part of the team to achieve the quality and outcomes
framework as well as contractual obligations set out by the GMS contract, LCS
contract, Network DES (IIF) as part of the practice service delivery model.
v To make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to
presenting problems.
v To assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated
and undiagnosed problems.
v To provide peer support for other clinicians, and advice where
required for nursing and healthcare support worker.
v To support in the training and development of the GP trainees and
medical students.
v Any other duties deemed relevant to the role
