Job responsibilities

We are looking for an experience salaried GP to join our team at Knowle House Surgery. The ideal candidate will be a GP who has enough experience to be self-motivated and work independently as well as being able to provide clinical leadership working with our friendly multidisciplinary team.

As the successful candidate you will be a highly motivated individual who wants to work within a supportive team serving a busy, diverse practice within Crownhill and Tamerton Foliot, Plymouth sites.

The post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including face to face surgery, telephone & e-consultations, triage calls, medicine management, home visits and associated paperwork.

In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Youll work alongside our team of experienced, dedicated clinical team and operations team to provide a compassionate, and quality level of care to our service users.

Applicants will have strong IT skills, confident in working independently and as part of a team, able to prioritise workload and willing to take on responsibility for decision-making.

  • The delivery of highly effective medical care to our registered and temporary patients, as an experienced professional who holds an appropriate, specific, professional qualification.

  • Working within defined professional boundaries, they will be able to make safe clinical decisions relating to assessment, diagnosis, treatment, review, and generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.

  • Effective management of long-term conditions, and processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

  • On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles while maintaining accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

  • Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

  • Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

  • Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

  • Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

  • Working with the team to provide high-quality care which meets the needs of the practice's patient population, managing own caseload, and a variety of health care needs ensuring high standards are consistently met.

  • Leading on a variety of specialised and general clinics, such as duty, in line with the doctor team rota.

  • Support the clinical team to deliver quality care to our service users.

  • Working harmoniously, and productively with the GP team to input on development initiatives that support the evolution of our adapting services.
