Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to work within our busy GP surgery in Crownhill, and Tamerton Foliot, Plymouth.

This role is new, and we are excited to appoint someone to work alongside our dedicated multidisciplinary clinical and operations team to improve our service to our diverse patient demographic.

Main duties of the job

  • The candidate will be an experienced Nurse Practitioner who holds an appropriate, specific, advanced professional qualification which meets NMC requirements for high-level practice.

  • Be knowledgeable in the 4 pillars of advanced practice and how these apply to you.

  • MSc level training- preferably in advanced practice or related advanced nursing studies.

  • Experience working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in primary care or other related service

  • Non-medical prescriber with minimum 12-24 months experience (dependant on areas worked)

  • Competent in assessment, diagnosis and management of common primary care presentations

  • Competent with technology and using multiple IT systems at once.

  • Experience in blood interpretation and review of laboratory results.

  • Experience in digital healthcare (Desirable)

  • Experience in using System One (Desirable)

  • The ANP will work with the team to provide high-quality care which meets the needs of the practices patient population.

  • Working within defined professional boundaries, they will be able to make safe clinical decisions relating to assessment, diagnosis, treatment and review.

  • The ANP will demonstrate critical thinking ability.

  • NMC requirements for advanced practice must be met.

We are looking for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Knowle House Surgery. As our ideal candidate, you will be a fully qualified ANP with a minimum of 5 years experience in the NHS.

As the successful candidate you will be a highly motivated individual who wants to work within a supportive team serving a busy, diverse practice within Crownhill and Tamerton Foliot, Plymouth.

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will act autonomously within their professional scope of practice providing care for patients face to face, via telephone, video, and online consultations.

As an experienced autonomous practitioner, you will be able to undertake a high level of clinical assessment in order to manage minor ailments and injury and have experience of long-term conditions management and the ability to make necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner.

Youll work alongside our team of experienced, dedicated clinical team and operations team to provide a compassionate, and quality level of care to our service users.

Applicants will have strong IT skills, confident in working independently and as part of a team, able to prioritise workload and willing to take on responsibility for decision-making.
