Job summary
Location:Great Berry SurgerySalary: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: Part Time - 18 hrs across 2 days
- Carrying out clinical examination of patients in their care
- Performing diagnosis based on their assessment of the patient
- Taking specimen (blood, urine etc) samples and ordering test samples
- Creating short or long-term treatment plans and prescribing medication based on test findings
- Managing and providing post-surgical care to patients
- Offering special instructions to patients such as nutritional advice, information about weight management, etc.
- Performing routine medical procedures
- Performing periodic evaluations of their patients and referring them to specialists as necessary
Main duties of the job
- Patient Assessment:Conducting thorough physical exams, taking medical histories, and ordering diagnostic tests.
- Diagnosis and Treatment:Making independent diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications within their scope.
- Chronic Disease Management:Managing chronic conditions like diabetes and COPD, working with patients to achieve optimal health.
- Acute Care:Providing care for acute presentations and minor health problems.
- Referrals:Making appropriate referrals to specialists or organizing emergency admissions when needed.
- Investigations:Ordering necessary blood tests, radiology, and other investigations.
