Job summary

We are looking for a pro-active and motivated Assistant Practice Manager who is an organised individual to assist in the efficient day to day running of the practice, working as a key member of the Management Team and support the Managing Partner.

The post holder will ideally have worked in general practice and offer strong leadership and people skills to continue to drive the practice forward.

Main duties of the job

  • Supporting the Managing Partner in the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities
  • Providing leadership and guidance to all staff ensuring that they adhere to policy and procedure at all times
  • Implementing systems to ensure compliance with CQC regulations and standards
  • Managing and processing cash and invoices on the finance system
  • Submitting monthly PPA
  • Implementing and embedding an effective practice and staff development plan for all staff (clinical and administrative) whilst maintaining a robust training record
  • Implementing and embedding an effective staff appraisal process
  • Evaluating, organising and overseeing the staff induction programme
  • Overseeing the administrative elements of QOF, liaising with GPs, nursing staff and administrator
  • Updating and acting as the focal point for the practice website and social media sites

About us

Summerhill Surgery is a happy surgery trying to provide the best possible service and have a patient focused ethos.

We currently have 7200 patients with approximately 15% living in Care Homes who are looked after by our specialist team.

We have 3 GP Partners and a non-clinical Managing Partner with 3 further salaried GP's. Other members of our Clinical team include ANPs, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCA's, a GP Assistant, a Paramedic and Pharmacist support. We also have a large hardworking admin team providing providing support to the clinicians and patients.

  • Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures
