Job summary

We are looking for a reliable, friendly person who is passionate about providing patients with a high standard of service to join our team as a Receptionist.

You may have previous experience as a medical receptionist using EMIS web which whilst desirable, is not essential as full training will be given.

This job is advertised as a part time position with regular shifts on a Wednesday and Friday afternoon. There will also be an oppourtunity to do more hours covering holiday and sickess.

Recruitment will be through CV and interview.

Employment will be dependent on pre-employment checks including at least two references, completion of right to work checks., DBS check and an occupational health assessment.

Main duties of the job

Your main duties will be to book appointments or signpost patients to appropriate services to ensure that they get the right care in the right place at the right time whether they contact the practice by phone or in person. Your duties will also include greeting patients on arrival at the practice and other varied administrative duties.

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
