Job summary
Situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park we are looking for a General Practitioner to join a thriving, dynamic, independent semi-rural GMS practice. Working within a PCN we currently comprise four GP partners. We have a team of highly-skilled nursing staff and efficient administration/reception team.
Located in a restored Georgian Mansion in the centre of Whitehaven we provide high quality care to over 7,000 patients. We are a high achieving, well-organised practice and utilise EMIS Web for clinical consultation.
Contracts are in place to enable the practice to provide patient services within the Locality and North Cumbria for specific services.
We are a teaching practice, actively engaged in training many groups of learners in an attempt to develop a sustainable workforce.
Main duties of the job
Proving care for a wide range of patients, from new-born children to elderly patients, taking a holistic approach and looking after the physical, social and psychological aspects of wellbeing within a supportive and friendly team environment through face to face and telephone consultation.
A portfolio career linked with education is a possibility, in association with the University of Central Lancashire, which we would facilitate.
An interest in business development would be welcome, though not required.

We are a partnership of four doctors working from a beautifully restored Georgian Mansion in the centre of Whitehaven. We are proud to be able to offer a broad range of services to our patients and look to expand this service provision where possible. Our healthcare team consists of four GP partners, sonographer, four practice nurses and four health care assistants.
The Healthcare Team is supported by the receptionist/administrators who help with the running of the practice. All patient information is treated with the strictest confidence. Community Nurses and Midwives are attached to the practice who work jointly with the doctors.
