Job summary

We are a GP Surgery in Bolton not far from Bolton Town Centre and close to the motorway. We are looking for a salaried GP to join our practice due to expanding list size and current vacancy. The position is offered at 6-8 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job

Sessions negotiable

1 on-call afternoon session per week (Friday)

Home Visits, minimal

Admin time for own generated admin

Admin cover for Salaried GP

15 minute F2F & 10 minute telephone consultation appointments

No extended hours expected

Job description

Job responsibilities

  1. This post is to provide a full range of high quality primary care services in line with approved protocols and evidence based medicine to the population of practice.
  2. The post holder will work towards meeting the targets set out in the GMS/PMS contract, QOF, BQC and other nationally and locally agreed guidance.
  3. Clinical:
  4. To provide a full range of medical services as defined in the GMS/PMS Contract by way of surgery, clinics and relevant administrative work (this list is not exhaustive), together with such other duties as required under the provisions of GMS/PMS Regulations applying to a GMS/PMS Performer.
  5. To support the clinical and managerial leadership in the day-to-day running of the practice and, as a senior clinician, make a significant contribution to the development of primary care services for the population served.
  6. To respond to medical problems presented by patients including history taking, examination, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral where appropriate.
  7. Provide health promotion and preventative health care and advice where appropriate.
  8. To undertake domiciliary visits as appropriate.
  9. Maintain patients clinical records.
  10. Attend primary health care team meetings and other meetings as may be necessary.
  11. Carry out all necessary clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties needed for the delivery of medical services.
  12. In collaboration with key stakeholders participate in the evaluation of the service through a process of audit including significant events and research activity.
  13. In collaboration with colleagues, undertake risk assessments in accordance with practice procedures.
  14. Additional clinical responsibilities negotiable, subject to the needs of the organisation. Salary will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to contribute to multi-professional working
  • Ability to work well within the practice team
  • Experience of contribution working with Partners towards QOF, PCN, Local and national Enhanced services and Standards and other contractual obligations held by the practice

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered GP with the GMC, possess the right to work in the UK, included on the NHS performers list.

Desirable

  • Minor Surgery Qualification
  • 6-8 week baby NIPE check
  • Knowledge of Systmone
