An exciting
opportunity has arisen for a pharmacy technician to join our team at Twyford
Surgery.
We are looking for a motivated and
forward-thinking technician. The role will be
based at Twyford Surgery and will involve supporting medicines management by
working within the general practice setting with the support of our Clinical
Pharmacist and clinical team. You will provide specialist medicines management
advice to GPs, Nurse/Paramedic Practitioners, Community Pharmacists, Reception
teams and other health professionals to promote the safe, effective and high-quality,
cost-effective use of medicines in all prescribing decisions. The role will also
focus on improving the repeat-prescribing process, relieving clinical workload
pressures.
Clinical
supervision and mentorship will be provided. We are looking for candidates who
are enthusiastic and adaptable to change, with excellent clinical skills and a
good level of competence in use of I.T. Candidates should exhibit good
organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range
of healthcare professionals and other stakeholders including patients, families,
and carers.

Refer patients to their community pharmacist for

To respond to medication queries from patients
and staff in a professional manner referring to the appropriate clinician in
accordance with protocols and personal and professional boundaries.
Provide professional telephone and written
advice and support to patients and their carers
Participate in audit activities to optimise medicines
safety and the use of prescribing resource
About us
Twyford Surgery, Berkshire
We are a friendly and busy GP surgery looking for a reliable and flexible individual to join our team.
The role is required to work alongside our existing Pharmacy Technician dealing with patient medication requests, preparing prescriptions and to answer patient queries face to face and by telephone.Candidates must be able to work methodically at a fast pace and may also be asked to carry out other relevant tasks for our busy surgery.Experience of working within the NHS would be an advantage, but full support and training will be given.Medical background and experience of EMIS would be preferred but not essential. The ideal candidate would need sound IT knowledge and excellent communication skills.
This is a permanent role to start as soon as possible.Salary dependent upon experience and hours.Ideally the candidate will be a qualitied Pharmacy Technician but full support and training may be offered to the right candidate.
We are located near Reading in a lovely setting with good rail links and free parking.
