Job summary

We are looking for Maternity cover for 12 months starting in Jan 2025. We would need a 6 session GP to cover Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Northlands Wood is a well established, vibrant and forward thinking practice in the heart of Mid Sussex. We are a training practice led by a strong partnership and management team with a salaried GP ,and a range of other clinical staff to support us in our roles. We pride ourselves in providing a supportive working environment for all and meet regularly with the MDT to ensure a holistic approach to our care and opportunities for ongoing learning for all staff.

Main duties of the job

The role will be based on 6 sessions per week. The role will be covering an existing GP patient list and Admin. This will also include pro-rata Duty Doctor sessions.

  • Clinical team is 4 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP4 Practice Nurses, 1 Phlebotomist
  • 1 Paramedic
  • PCN Additional roles- Pharmacist, First Contact Physio, Social Prescriber
  • GP Training Practice- 2 Trainers in the practice.
  • Systm1, AccRX
  • Daily Coffee break with the Doctors, Paramedic and Pharmacist
  • Low Home visit requirement
  • 14 patients AM 10 Patients PM

Job description

Job responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate and forward thinking GP to join our Practice to provide Maternity Cover for a period of 12 months. This would be based on 6 sessions per week Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address medical concerns presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals as necessary..
  • Prescribe medications and manage prescription requests.
  • Participate in pro-rata Dudy Doctor sessions
  • Perform home visits when clinically indicated.
  • Assist in achieving QOF and other local enhanced service targets.
  • Handle clinical administration for a patient list, including the completion of medical reports.
  • Make necessary referrals to other healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with the administrative team and engage in staff and clinical meetings.
