Job Summary
The PCN Manager will work closely with the Clinical Director and PCN Board to oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic development of the network. The role encompasses leadership in areas such as finance, human resources, project management, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing the PCN's objectives, managing the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) workforce, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Please note: the lead practice for Sale Central PCN will be moving in the next 3 months to Firsway Health Centre and this will therefore in time be the employing organisation. We are planning for the PCN Manager role to be up to 4 days a week, with an additional 1 day a week available for a practice-specific role (at Firsway Health Centre) to support the existing practice management team. We welcome applications from those who can only work part-time also in such a scenario we would plan to provide additional part-time support with a potential PCN administrator role.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the PCN's strategic and operational plans in alignment with NHS priorities.
- Lead on the development and delivery of PCN projects and initiatives, including service transformation and quality improvement programs.
- Monitor and report on performance metrics, ensuring targets are met and identifying areas for improvement.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the coordination and delivery of enhanced services and other contractual requirements.
- Manage the recruitment, induction, and ongoing support of ARRS staff across the PCN.
- Ensure supportive and effective communication and collaboration among member practices and external stakeholders.
- Financial Oversight:
- Manage the PCN's financial systems, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Liaise with accountants and financial advisors to ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency.
- Monitor funding streams and ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
- Human Resources:
- Lead on HR processes, including staff appraisals, development plans, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and NHS HR policies.
- Foster a positive and supportive working environment for all PCN staff.
- Governance and Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NHS policies and ensure the PCN's adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the review and updating of the Network Agreement and other governance documents.
- Represent the PCN in meetings with external bodies and stakeholders.
Additional Information
- The role offers flexibility in working hours, with options for remote working to be discussed upon appointment.
- The successful candidate will be based within one of the member practices but may be expected to work across all PCN sites as required.
- A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required for this position.
