Job summary

Firsway is a large practice with circa 15,400 patients based in Sale, Cheshire.

We are looking to recruit a new GP for 8 sessions per week to join our large, friendly team. Depending on applicants and interview we can consider 2 GPs joining us at 4 sessions each.

The post holder will be responsible for either 4 sessions or 8 sessions per week which includes sharing our weekly care home ward rounds with another GP. We are currently operating contact with patients digitally via an online system called AccuRx Patient Triage. Your session will consist of patient contacts, administration/referrals and any home visits as well as the processing of test results, patient letters and prescription requests.

All GPs undertake extended hours provision on a pro rata, rota basis as well as a share of the duty GP role each day which involves an admin session in the morning and then on on-call session in the afternoon.

About us

We are a partnership of 6 with a further 9 Salaried GPs, a nursing team of 5, an experienced Medicines Management Team and a practice support team of patient co-ordinators, administrators and a strong management team. We are research active and are also a training practice for undergraduate medical students, foundation year 2 doctors and GP registrars. In addition, we offer placements for other clinicians in training including student nurses and physicians associates.

Despite being a large practice, we all know and care about each other and work well as a team. We have a strong patient focus and offer a supportive work environment.
