Practice Operations Manager and Partners at Watton Medical Practice.
Providing business and financial development for the
practice, working as part of the management team.
Providing strategic guidance and planning to the
partners. Ensuring business efficiency
and provide excellent financial performance.
Main duties of the job
To work with the partners on strategic
planning for the practice
Liase with the Practices professional advisors
on all relevant matters, including accountant and legal advisors.
To manage Partnership changes including
retirements and new appointments
To act as a formal representative of the
practice when required
Developing, implementing, and embedding an
efficient business resilience plan
Be responsible for health and safety aspects
such as risk assessments
The management of premises, managing contracts
for services with our finance team.
Managing the financial elements of the practice,
including budgets. Seeking to maximise
income and reduce expenditure in conjunction with the partners and finance
team.

We have a multi disciplinary team including Doctors, Paramedics, Physicians Associate, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Mental Health Practitioner, Physiotherapist, Nurses, Trainee Nursing Associate and Healthcare assistants. Our varied and experienced administrative team supports our patients and clinicians.
We are one of three surgeries within the Breckland Alliance Primary Care Network with a list size of 14500 and a Primary care network total population of 45000.

Working alongside our Practice Operations manager the successful candidate will need to demonstrate robust leadership and communication skills, be well organised, highly motivated and financially astute. There is a requirement to take responsibility for all business aspects of the practice including strategic advice and planning.
The partners also require the successful candidate to be proactive and plan for the future, maximising the practices potential in relation to business, finance and premises, whilst maintaining patient care. The candidate needs to ensure the partners are kept fully informed of local and national proposals and initiatives, presented clearly and precisely to allow them to make informed decisions.
An understanding of current NHS initiatives will be helpful; however the NHS is changing rapidly and the introduction of new ideas and methods from outside the NHS presents an attractive proposition to the partnership.
In addition to adapting the practice to meet the demands of providing high quality patient care, the business manager will need to ensure the practice is financially efficient and compliant with all aspects of health and safety and CQC registration and compliance.
