Job summary
We require motivated and enthusiastic individuals to be part of the nursing team. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate a number of skills to include traditional HCA duties as per the job description/skills list. Training will be provided to the successful applicant if necessary. The candidate will be required to adhere to practice protocols and procedures and will be expected to ensure accurate, consistent data entry. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain adequate stock levels and undertake ordering as necessary.
The successful candidate will need to be computer literate and ideally have some experience of working in General Practice. They will possess a pleasant, calm and mature disposition and be able to work enthusiastically as part of a very busy team, using their initiative and confidence to provide a first class service to our patients. We expect the person appointed to be well spoken, of smart appearance and to have achieved a good standard of general education. They must be conscientious, adaptable and have a good sense of humour.
Main duties of the job
The vacancy is for 30-36 hours per week over 4-5 days.
The ideal candidate would be an experienced HCA with excellent clinical skills, competent in phlebotomy, dressings, ecgs, and flu vaccinations. However, as we can offer training to suitable candidates.
About us
We are a 3 partner and 2 salaried GP training practice, working from purpose-built premises in the pleasant mid Norfolk market town of East Dereham. Just twenty minutes drive from Norwich. The practice is currently part of Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care Board.
Our surgery team comprises a full complement of ancillary staff including Minor Illness Nurse, mental health Practitioner and Clinical Pharmacist together with attached Community Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitor.Our patient list of approximately 9,000 falls within a fairly compact area - extending to an approximate 4.5 mile radius of the town centre. The practice is open every weekday between 8am and 6pm Throughout the day there is always a nurse on duty and they are able to assess any emergencies which may arrive when there is no doctor on the premises. The daily duty doctor can be contacted by mobile telephone throughout the day.
We passed our most recent CQC inspection in November 2018, which we feel was a reflection on the excellent staffing, facilities and systems that are in place at Theatre Royal Surgery.
We feel that we are a happy, efficient and caring practice where all members of the team are encouraged to use their initiative and particular skills to ensure that we offer the highest possible standard of care to our patients.
