Job summary
We
have a vacancy for a Medical Receptionist in a busy, friendly, GP
practice. Applicants must be reliable
and punctual, have good communication skills and the ability to multi-task. Previous experience in General Practice
preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided.
Hours
per week will be a mixture of mornings and afternoons over a 5 day period.
Main duties of the job

ensure smooth running of the practice telephone system, answering calls
courteously and in an efficient manner.
Booking
of appointments for patients with the
Doctors, Practice Nurses and other professionals via the telephone and face
to face
Ensure
that patients are received politely and are dealt with efficiently, providing
them with any information they may require.
Respect
patients needs to relay information in a confidential manner and respond
accordingly
Register
new, amend where necessary and transfer patients manual and computer records
File
and retrieve patient records as requested.
Ensure
that prescriptions are issued in conjunction with the practice policy on
repeat and urgent prescriptions
Photocopying/scanning
as and when require
Contacting
patient by telephone or letter for reviews and appointments
Any
other administration duties required of the post

Bucklands End Lane is a well established GP Surgery what
is classified as an Urban area. It holds a GMS Contract and there are 6200 patients
and we currently have 3 Partners (two male, one female) and a Salaried GP.
