Job summary
We
are seeking a GP to support our health care service to continue to meet the care
needs of our patients over the winter period.
You
will perform as an autonomous general practitioner working independently with
other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of
patients. You will provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and
colleagues whilst maintaining clinical excellence and will be professionally
accountable and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance
with the GMC code of conduct, ensuring the safety of patients and quality of
their care is primary.
This
role is a fixed term position to 31st March 2025 under the GP ARRS
scheme.
Main duties of the job
The
post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including
surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients
at home, checking and signing/authorising repeat prescriptions and dealing with
queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making
professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether
self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the
organisation.
Assessing
the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed
problems.
Screening
patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness in consultation
with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols,
developing care plans for health.
Providing
counselling and health education.
Managing
your patient caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording
clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting
data for audit purposes.
Compiling
and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
Prescribing
in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever
this is clinically appropriate.
The
post-holder will be required to visit patients during surgery time if
clinically indicated.
About us
Our surgery is a rural practice based in Warboys, Cambridgeshire with a list size of 7,500 patients and a team of 28. Many of our team members have been at the practice for many years.

- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise and entry on the GP register (Certificate of completion date must be within 2 years and not having held a substantive post before).
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent.
- Included on a medical performers list or eligible.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
