Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced Health Care Assistant to compliment our established and experienced team of nurses and HCAs.
20 hours per week on a Tuesday & Thursday afternoon and all day Friday.
We can offer:

List size 7000 and growing steadily due to growth of local population.
Full complement of motivated staff including 4 practice nurses and 3 HCAs, two ANPs who are both independent prescribers.
Part dispensing.
Happy practice, very low staff turnover.

Main duties of the job
The following
are the core responsibilities of the healthcare assistant. There may be, on
occasions, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon
factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a.
Undertake
new patient health checks
b.
Support
the practice nurse with health promotion programmes
c.
Carry
out baseline observations such as pulse oximitery, blood pressure, temperature,
pulse rate, recording findings accurately
d.
Undertake
wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
e.
Support
the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics
f.
Carry
out BMI checks as directed
g.
Act
as a chaperone as required
h.
Undertake
venepuncture
i.
Carry
out ECGs as requested
j.
Ensure
specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
k.
Provide
support during minor operations as required
l.
Ensure
all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
m. Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in
accordance with existing guidance
n.
Ensure
clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in
accordance with the practice IPC policy
Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate

The Moat House Surgery is located in Warboys and serves a semi-rural population of 7000 patients.
We are proud of our consistently high performance in the NHSE Patient Survey where we ranked fourth in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG on overall experience in 2021. In general, our patients appreciate the Surgery and respect our staff. We receive very few complaints.
We have a very effective multi-disciplinary team which means that we can provide high quality and responsive care to our patients.
