Job summary

We are seeking a Practice Nurse to join our nursing team and we are looking for candidates with a general practice or community nursing background. Experience in wound care management is essential, experience of chronic disease management, immunisations and cervical cytology a bonus.

The position is part time. Hours to work are from 8am to 6.30 pm, though there is some flexibility for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

Job Responsibilities: (as qualified to do so)

  • Wound care/ulcer care/doppler
  • Cervical cytology
  • Contraception
  • Routine immunisations/childhood immunisations
  • Venepuncture
  • Removal of sutures
  • ECGs
  • Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
  • To assist in the management of clinical indicators (QOF) and update patient records at every opportunity.

Participate in the Management of Chronic Disease Clinics (as qualified to do so)

  • Asthma clinic
  • COPD Clinic
  • Diabetes clinic

About us

This is a busy department, so the successful applicant will be focused, hardworking and motivated with excellent communication skills and a confident personality. We are a happy and supportive team made up of 4 health care assistants and 4 nurses. A good sense of humour, a willingness to get stuck in and the ability to be a great team player are essential.

Ledbury Health Partnership is based in the pretty market town of Ledbury, Herefordshire which is easily accessible from Hereford, Worcestershire or Gloucestershire. We have a growing patient list of 13,500 and a practice team of more than 50 staff working over 3 sites.
