Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our busy central administration team, putting you at the very heart of the organisation.

You will be joining a lively and friendly team with a varied workload and continual training and development opportunities. This role will combine the elements of both secretarial and administration duties, providing you with the opportunity to make a real difference to patients within our diverse community. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into a career within healthcare or looking to expand their current experience.

Main duties of the job

The central administration team provides the back office support for all three of the practices with Better Health MCR. The work is fast-paced and varied. It is essential that the team can proactively manage the workload as well as continuously prioritise the demands. Your main duties will include a combination of both secretarial and administration tasks (please see the attached job description for full details) to support your colleagues in the central team as well as the wider teams within the organisation. You will be expected to be an active team player but also be comfortable working independently. Communication and accuracy are essential within the role. The work produced will be of a consistently high standard and you will communicate with a large variety of individuals within the practice as well as having contact with patients, when necessary

We operate from three sites: The Robert Darbishire Practice (which is also head office) in Rusholme Health Centre, The Whitswood Practice in Alexandra Park Health Centre and New Bank Health Centre in Longsight. In total we have about 45,000 patients.

Our patients are very diverse and include established communities, as well as new communities from all over the world. We have good links with the University and have a sizeable student population.

Our staff team of about 100 people has a great mix of skills and experience. We have exciting plans to expand this team even more, to help us further our mission to improve lives.

The post is full-time (37.5 hours) and will be mostly based at The Robert Darbishire Practice, although you will also need to be able to travel to our other sites as needed. The usual working hours are 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Salary will be in the range of £23,465.00 to £25,415.00 depending on experience. We offer membership of the NHS Pension Scheme and 5.4-6.6 weeks' holiday (depending on NHS service) plus bank holidays (pro rata). (The post is not subject to Agenda for Change terms and conditions.)
