We have an exciting opportunity and are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual toReceive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way across all Foundry Healthcare Lewes sites.

Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice
  • Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
  • Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
  • Contact patients by telephone or letter at Doctors request to arrange appointments.
  • Patient notes and correspondence:

o Enter data on to patient computer records as required

  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and air and tidy the waiting room in turn with other staff.
  • Premises:

o Open up premises at the start of the day when first to arrive, de-activate alarm and make all necessary preparations to receive patients.

o When last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totally secured, internal lights are off and the alarm activated.

  • Take new registration forms and check they are appropriately completed.
  • Carry out administrative duties as requested.
  • Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Team Leader or Patient Services Manager.
  • Undertake any training required by the practice

About us

Foundry is a single Practice PCN serving a population of circa 29,000 patients in the Lewes and Ringmer area of East Sussex. We operate from three surgery sites in Lewes and one in Ringmer, a mixture of both purpose built and converted buildings. Foundry aims to provide consistently excellent primary care to our local population and to develop a comprehensive population health management approach withour patients and partners.
