Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced Receptionist to our team. The applicant must possess excellent communication and administrative skills. The position will be a minimum of 16 hours per week but the applicant must be flexible to work additional shifts where required by agreement. We use EMIS web software and previous experience would be preferred but this is not essential as full training will be given

Main duties of the job

We a looking for a flexible and enthusiastic team player who is trustworthy and able to effectively manage their workload. The applicant will need excellent telephone and verbal skills and confidentiality is essential. You will also be required to work in accordance with all written protocols

  • Receiving patients and liaising with members of Practice team
  • Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
  • Scanning daily post into medical records
  • Process appointment requests from patients by telephone and in person.
  • Manage requests for home visits
  • Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records.
  • Process patients change of address computer data and medical records
  • Process repeat prescription request in accordance with Practice guidelines and the Electronic Prescribing Service
  • Effectively manage own time, workload and resources

About us

We are a friendly GP practice with approximately 20 employees, including GP's, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Pharmacists along with Reception staff. The role will be varied to include all aspects of general practice.
