Job summary
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Practice Manager to support the GP Partners & Practice Manager in effectively managing the wider practice team, patient services & overall smooth running of the surgery.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will lead on aspects of the day-to-day running of the surgery, with an emphasis on management of the practice team, patient services, building maintenance & IT systems.
They will also assist the GP Partners & Practice Manager with all other elements of managing the services provided at The Docs, & deputise for the Practice Manager during periods of absence.
About us
The Docs is a well-established GP surgery in Manchester City Centre with a growing capitation of over 12,000 patients. We have recently renovated our premises including a two-storey extension to accommodate the increasing demand, as well as opening a branch site at New Jackson Medical Centre near Deansgate.
Our clinical team consists of three GP Partners, a salaried GP, three Nurses, a Nurse Associate & two Pharmacists. We are a training practice, with three GP Registrars currently working at the surgery. The clinical team is supplemented by a Focused Care Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapist & Mental Health Practitioner.
Our eleven-strong administrative team provide front-of-house & back-office support to the clinicians & registered or prospective patients.

ORGANISATIONAL
- All aspects of building maintenance including
Health & Safety
- Liaise with Practice Manager & GP Partners
regularly
- Liaise with relevant staff within the PCN &
locality to share learning & achieve objectives
- Liaise with commissioners regarding contracts
& performance reporting
- Development & review of Policies & Procedures
- Maintain CQC compliance
- Handle patient complaint responses
- Process outgoing payments
- Reconciliation of payments in accountancy software
- Oversee stock ordering & rotation
- Coordination of quarterly Patient Participation

- Any reasonable tasks requested by the Management
