Job summary

Major Oak Medical Practice is looking for an experienced part-time Medical Administrator (25 hours/week Monday to Friday) to join the team.

The post holder must have the proven ability to scrutinise, analyse and accurately summarise medical record straight onto computer clinical system (SystmOne) in accordance with the practice protocols for the recording of clinical information.

The post holder must have experience of scanning&matchings letters, notes summarising and clinical coding. Knowledge of SystmOne is essential. The post holder must have medical terminology experience as a minimum and able to read code data ensuring accuracy and quality of data input.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include but not be exclusive to:

To match clinical correspondence to patients electronic records in a daily basis

Culling and sorting patient records and letters in preparation for summarising

Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medical history

Coding the information into the practice clinical system

Auditing data collection standards in the practice

Monitoring progress of notes summarising against practice targets

To summarise all new patient records within 8 weeks of receipt

To add all vaccination history in patients clinical records

To add all cervical cytology history in patients clinical records

To add all operations and procedure history in patients clinical records

To read code letters according to the practice protocols

To add recalls as appropriate
