Job summary

  • To oversee and ensure efficient day to day running of the reception and related areas both in staff personnel and systems.

Main duties of the job

  • To oversee and ensure efficient day to day running of the reception and related areas both in staff personnel and systems.
  • To take initiative and respond to the busy day to day demands of a busy reception area.
  • To produce staff rotas 6 weeks ahead
  • Management of all reception staff rotas to cover duties, holidays, sick leave and study leave to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
  • Booking Locum GPs to ensure you have enough clinicians working each day
  • Maintaining day to day discipline within the reception working with the Assistant Practice Manager to recruit, induct and orient new members of staff.
  • Assist with updating of skills of existing team members.
  • To ensure that all members of the team achieve and maintain satisfactory levels of competence in each area.
  • Overseeing the management of the waiting room areas and patient reception areas
  • Ensure that all reception tasks are carried out efficiently and within protocols, guidelines, and procedures.
  • First point of contact for staff calling sick and covering the team that has sickness. Hours are Monday-Friday 7.30am-3.30pm
