Due to retirement, we are
seeking to recruit an additional member of our reception/administration team
for 14.25 hours per week, working 8.15-12.30 and 2-6 on Mondays and 8.15-12.30 and 2-4 Wednesdays (the candidate would also be expected to be flexible to cover other
shifts when required).
We offer 6 weeks
annual leave (pro rata) & NHS pension plus a friendly and supportive working
environment.
Knowledge of NHS Primary
Care is advantageous but not essential and good IT skills are required. An
ability to communicate well is a key part of the role and applicants must be
able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for somebody who shares our idea of what a

a bonus. You'll be prepared to work hard and communicate well with both patients and colleagues. Good customer/patient service skills are essential.
You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties
and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can
include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, patient
registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and
hard copy) and assisting patients as required.
Also, you would act as the central point of
contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries
for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and
external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

us for generations. Our patients mainly live in Foxhill / Parson Cross and have
high levels of socioeconomic deprivation along with the healthcare needs this

following are the core responsibilities of the Medical Receptionist. There may
be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent
upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

Maintaining
and monitoring the practice appointment system
b.
Process
personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c.
Answer
incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request
appropriately
d.
Signpost
patients to the correct service or other services if we are full i.e. Out of
hours appointments, pharmacy, WIC, 111 etc

incoming and outgoing mail

contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and
external agencies
