Following the announcement of the new ARRS GP role available to PCNs, Leeds Student Medical Practice and The Light Surgery Primary Care Network are looking for an enthusiastic, newly qualified GP to join their team on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2025. This role will be part of the PCN additional roles reimbursement scheme (ARRS) and will have the potential to be extended beyond March pending NHS funding arrangements and guidance.
The role will be based at Leeds Student Medical Practice and The Light Surgery (both located in Leeds city centre). You will be required to work at both sites for this role, 2 days at LSMP and 1 day (Friday) at The Light Surgery.
To be eligible for this role, you must have qualified within 2 years (after 30th September 2022) and must NOT have had substantive employment within a GP practice.

Main duties of the job
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide face-to-face and telephone consultations for routine and urgent care.
- Conduct patient home visits (low frequency)
- Manage patient care in surgery, including investigating and reviewing results, developing care plans, and making referrals to secondary care or other providers.
- Issue and sign repeat prescriptions, ensuring they align with national/local guidelines.
- Administer and handle patient-related queries, test results, referral letters, and other tasks in a timely manner.
- Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes using EMIS and S1 clinical systems.
- Ensure safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective care, in line with Practice disease management protocols and NICE guidance.
- Independently prescribe medications within your scope of practice.
- Review and manage patient medications following appropriate policies and local clinical guidelines.
- Utilise other available clinical and support staff in delivering a holistic and patient centred care.
- Actively participate in MDT and care conference meetings, as required.
- Participate in on-call duties on a pro-rata basis, if required.
