Heath Care Assistant Part Time

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our highly committed team working 15 hours per week over 2 days.

The candidate needs to have the ability to work independently as well as being a good team player and be passionate about general practice.

The Health Care Assistant will work to support the wider nursing and GP teams.

The successful applicant should :

• Be caring, conscientious and have excellent communication skills
• Be an enthusiastic learner and adaptable to changes in the role.
• Be a good team player and ideally have experience in the general practice Health care assistant role and have experience of using clinical SystmOne.

Main duties of the job

• NHS Health Checks and new patient checks
• ECG recording
• Phlebotomy
• Urinalysis and specimen processing
• Chaperoning duties
• Blood pressure Recording
• B12, Flu, pneumococcal, and shingles vaccines
• Diabetes checks including foot checks
• Fridge checks
• Debif and emergency equipment checks
• QOF work
• Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
• preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before during and after patient care interventions
• Any other duty required to support the practice within this role.

About us

The Emmett Carr GP Partnership is a 2 site practice based in Renishaw and Eckington serving a population of just under 5000 patients. We have 2 GP Partners and 2 Salaried GP's and a paramedic. Our nursing team consists 2 Practice Nurses and 1 Health Care Assistant.

Our strong clinical workforce is supported by an experienced administrative team to provide high quality services to our patients.

We form part of the North Hardwick and Bolsover PCN which consists of the 7 local practices and we share a variety of services, including first contact physio's, Social Prescribers, Pharmacist, Team Up Visiting service, and Additional GP and ANP services.

As a PCN we cover our own Extend Access.
