Job summary
We are looking for a GP to provide locum cover during a colleagues maternity leave.
We are looking for a good team player, with enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference in General Practice. Ideally we would like the role to start in January and be for 6 sessions.
You would be part of a growing MDT that includes 4 experienced GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, Paramedics, Nurses, a Clinical Pharmacist and HCAs. We are a training practice.

Southbourne Surgery has an opportunity for a Fixed Term GP Locum to cover a Maternity Leave.
About us
Southbourne Surgery has a list size of 10 700 patients and is part of ChAMP PCN. We are close to the South Downs, Chichester Harbour and the City of Chichester.
We have free on site parking. We use SystmOne and a variety of technology to help with clinical admin. We have recently undertaken a QI project with the aim of improving workflow processes to reduce GP workload.

Job responsibilities
- To undertake a proportional amount of duty doctor and extended hours cover
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Taking on a share of clinical and administrative workload when covering for any absences (planned and unplanned).
- In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care and adhere to the job plan.
