An exciting opportunity for an Experienced Practice Nurse to join our team or an opportunity to train as a Practice Nurse to work with our enthusiastic practice committed to training and developing the right candidate. The candidate needs to be full of enthusiasm and ready for the challenge.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Practice Nurse or a nurse ready for the commitment to become a Practice Nurse.
We value professionalism, enthusiasm and flexibility. The candidate needs to be good at I.T, be able to work independently with good timekeeping and organisational skills.
The role includes Long Term Conditions management, cytology, vaccinations and health promotion. Full training can be provided.
The ideal candidate would also have the experience of or a desire to develop leadership skills in the future.

We are a 1 site practice in South West London. We have a list size of 12000 patients.
We are a training practice comprising of 3 GP partners, 6 salaried GP's, nursing team with 1 Nurse Practitioner, 1 nurse and 3 Health Care Assistants, 1 trainee nursing associate and an experienced and supportive administrative team.
We are a supportive training practice with a friendly team atmosphere with excellent staff retention.

Job responsibilities
Working independently (with training and support) to provide care in:
- Long Term Condition management (hypertension, diabetes, asthma, COPD)
- Cytology
- Child Immunisations
- Vaccinations
- Swabs, specimens, bloods, blood pressures
- Keeping accurate and detailed health records on the Vision system
- A key role in QOF achievement
- Involvement in the MDT of the Surgery
- Telephoning consultations and advice
- Discussion of blood results with patients.
This post holder will also uphold the Surgeries protocols and policies, carrying out their role with compassion, understanding and professionalism.
This role may support the wider team with:
- Clinical audits
- Safeguarding concerns
- Support and participate in shared learning over the Practice
- Support for GPs in patient care
- Ability to review clinical practices and respond to national policies and initiatives where necessary
- Participate in local initiatives in order to enhance local patient care where necessary
- Training and supporting other members of the MDT
- Help organise and run vaccine clinics as seasonally required.
