Job summary

To provide support to the SCGP medical secretarial team with day to day tasks, liaising with patients and health professionals as well as providing administration support to the managerial, clinical and non-clinical team within SCGP

Main duties of the job

To receive incoming and make outgoing phone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries

To liaise with hospital teams and other health professionals to ensure that there is good communication between the primary and secondary care teams.

To provide professional and accurate communications to patients, other health professionals and colleagues as required to include typing letters, sending emails and messages via the clinical system and text messaging systems

To ensure that referrals have been accepted and managed appropriately and medical records are updated and patients informed of updates as required.

To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.

General office maintenance including scanning, photocopying, filing, research, phone calls and emails.

Support the secretarial team with adhoc tasks and projects.

General assistance to the medical secretarial team as required.
