Vine Medical Group is recruiting for an experienced Full
Time Healthcare Assistant to join our Clinical
Team.
Our Healthcare Assistants are
supported by our Nursing Team to deliver a range of clinical services and play
a key role in assisting the Practice to deliver programmes of care including monitoring
of long-term conditions and health prevention activities. They work collaboratively with our teams to
meet the needs of patients, contributing to the health and wellbeing of our
patient population and provide high-quality and safe patient care.
We are looking for a motivated team player with a can-do
attitude, patient focused approach who works well as part of a team. We are happy to support ongoing training and
development.
This is a full time role of
37.5 hours per week between Monday- Friday, with a working pattern to be
agreed. To include our extended opening hours, on a rotational basis (after
successful completion of the probationary period) which can include early weekday
mornings or one weekend session a month.

Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of our Clinicians,
strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols, the
Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision
and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

administrative teams who support the smooth running of the Practice.

Job responsibilities
- Work within
clinical boundaries, demonstrating safe and competent clinical decision-making,
delivering high quality clinical care and maintaining patient confidentiality
at all times
- Accurate
recording of care provision onto patient records ensuring correct coding of all
procedures and information using approved methods and templates
- Provide hands
on autonomous patient care in line with practice protocols and national
clinical frameworks including: Phlebotomy, Long Term Health Conditions Annual Reviews (both in surgery and
Housebound/Care Homes), NHS Patient Health Checks, Height and weight measurements, Blood Glucose Sampling, ECG Recording- Blood Pressure Monitoring (Manual), Urinalysis. Also where in line with own competencies and training: Wound Care including removal of sutures and clips, Administration of B12 injections, Administration of specified routine vaccination, Facilitating / participating in patient group consultation
- Chaperoning and
assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another
clinician
- Processing and
management of laboratory samples requested by other Clinicians
- Vaccine / cold
chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Conduct routine
and post-use inspections of emergency equipment and medications
- Ordering of
clinical supplies and equipment, assist with stock checking and maintaining the
equipment inventory
- Clearing and
re-stocking clinical rooms/trolleys at end of the session ensuring stock
rotation and date checking
- Cleaning and
maintaining clinical equipment, reporting faults promptly
- Preparing and
maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care
interventions including assisting Practice Nurses and GPs during the
performance of minor operations and LARC fittings
- Actively
participate in all aspects of infection prevention and control and champion
this within the practice
- Assisting in
the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
- Helping to
raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Assisting with
the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
and support QOF requirements and data completion
- Actively
participate in seasonal and special projects as requested e.g. flu campaign
- Maintain
accurate clinical records in conjunction with Practice policies and current
legislation
- Attend and
participate in practice meetings as required
- Actively take part in mandatory, internal and
external training as requested
