Job summary

We are looking for a Part Time Medical Receptionist, to work 22 hours over 4 days per week, to join our friendly team

Applicants must have excellent communication skills with good IT skills and be able to work under pressure as you will become a member of our reception team offering an essential service to our 16,000+ patients. You must be enthusiastic, caring and patient focused. We are passionate about patient care and wellbeing and welcome candidates with the same ethos.

We offer 6 weeks annual leave.

Uniform is provided.

Main duties of the job

Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and the correct appointment booked using the online signposting tool.

Greeting patients and visitors in an efficient and courteous manner

Provide an effective and polite telephone enquiry service

Proactively communicate information between relevant patients, doctors and professionals

About us

Barlow Medical Centre is a large practice with a very friendly team, We have 5 Partners, Management Team, Salaried GP's, Nursing Team, , Prescribing Team, Data Team, Secretarial Team, Care Coordinators and a Reception Team. We are a training Practice and currently have 5 Trainee GP's.

Greet patients and visitors to the practice.

Book in patients and visitors inline with practice appointments and visitors procedures.

Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly.

Ensure computerised appointment system is up-to-date.

Booking, amending and cancelling patient appointments.

Set-up of new patients onto the computer system.

Signposting Patientsto the correctclinicianwith our online signposting tool called Sentiers

Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.

Competent in the use of computerised systems

Ensuring patient confidentiality

Complete annual mandatory training

Ensure up-to-date maintenance of both computerised and manual filing systems (i.e. patient notes).
