Job summary

We are looking for a flexible and experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner of any background (e.g. nursing, pharmacy, paramedic science, physiotherapy) etc.) to join our lovely team in a large teaching practice in East London. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working in a clinic or ED setting, and be able to manage a wide range of patient presentations within general practice. The clinics will be a mixture of urgent and routine, face-to-face and telephone consultations with patients, plus home visits when required for our housebound population. You will work closely with the GPs, registrars, AHPs and nursing team to provide excellent, timely care for our diverse population.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will support the clinical team to assess, diagnose and treat patients with acute health complaints presenting to their GP surgery.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc/PG Dip in Nursing or other relevant healthcare professions (pharmacy, paramedic science, physiotherapy).
  • Evidence of current registration with appropriate governing body e.g. NMC.
  • MSc or PG Dip (HEE accredited) in Advanced Clinical Practice.
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification.

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of proficiency in advanced clinical practice theoretical and practical knowledge enabling excellent assessment, diagnosis and management of patients using a stable evidence base.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a large, multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of running and managing own clinics.
  • Confident to manage same-day requests and urgent patient presentations.
  • Able to carry out audit and research.
  • Able to demonstrate competency in the 4 pillars of advanced clinical practice.
  • Evidence of excellent clinical leadership.

Desirable

  • At least 12 months experience working in general practice or a community/out of hours/emergency department setting.
  • Evidence of leadership and management experience within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Evidence of teaching experience.
  • Evidence of expanded scope clinical skills e.g. LARC, MSK injections, other.
  • Be able to work across the age spectrum.
