Job summary

Miles Platting, Newton Heath & Moston PCN would like to recruit a cohort of Qualified and Trainee Nurse Associates to complement our current clinical workforce. These roles will be based within GP practices in the neighbourhood and will also include working in the Extended hours clinics.

The roles are fixed contract roles but with a view to possibly extending these in line with our developing service plans.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Nursing Associate will be to work with the Registered Nurse and other members of our diverse clinical team, providing and monitoring care to patients within the network and contributing to the ongoing assessment in line with the service pathways. A crucial part of the role will be working on Saturdays (rota based) to cover clinics in our Extended Hours Services.

The Nurse Associate plays a key role in shaping the delivery of nursing care for the future. We are looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic individuals to work with us and help us to make sure this an integral role moving forward.

We expect that you will be able to work independently and manage and prioritise your own workload. You will need excellent communication skills, be able to meet targets and liaise positively with patients, primary care staff and other partners.

The post holder will have completed their Nursing Associate training and be registered with the NMC and works independently under the leadership of registered nurses, working within the sphere of nursing and care, and within all aspects of the nursing process.

Nursing associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment as a nursing associate and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct (Nursing and Midwifery Council 2015).

The role will assist the registered staff to deliver Extended hours access for patients.

To compliment the role of the GP and other Health Professionals as an integral part and key member of the care team.

To make the best use of clinical skills within the practice in order to promote well-being and maximise health gain for patients.

To provide a safe, high quality and accessible treatment room service to the practice population.

To assist with Flu and Covid vaccination programmes
