Main duties of the job

The post holder is a pharmacist, who acts within their professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a team of Clinical Pharmacists across the organisation.

You will provide support to general practice staff with regards to prescription and medication queries, resolving day-to-day medicine issues, consulting with and treating patients directly.

You will help support the repeat prescription system, deal with acute prescription requests, and medicines reconciliation on transfer of care and systems for safer prescribing, providing expertise in clinical medicines advice while addressing both public and social care needs of patients

The successful candidate will be required to work across the operational sites of HRH as required.

Hastings & Rother Healthcare is a newly formed organisation which consists of three GP practices within Hastings and St Leonards. We are an organisation that is rapidly expanding and we currently cover the largest patient population in Hastings & St Leonards.

We have a highly skilled clinical team working across the sites, which include; experienced GP's, Practice Nurses, HCA's, Nurse Practitioner's, Clinical Pharmacists', Paramedic Practitioners and Physiotherapists.

  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience

  • Previous Experience in General Practice

Knowledge and Skills

  • An understanding of the nature of GPs and General Practices
  • An understanding of the nature of primary care prescribing, concepts of rational prescribing and strategies for improving prescribing
  • IT literacy including excellent proficiency in word processing, excel and data entry
  • Good organisational skills

  • Knowledge of EMIS Web
