Job summary

Hastings & Rother Healthcare is a newly formed organisation which consists of three GP practices within Hastings and St Leonards. We are an organisation that is rapidly expanding and we currently cover the largest patient population in Hastings & St Leonards.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide a high-quality, cost-effective service to the patients of the Practice; diagnosing and prescribing treatments and medication while working within defined procedures and protocols as laid down by the GPs.

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team which include, GP Partners, GP’s, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Mental Health Nurse, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Phlebotomists.

You will be responsible for face to face and telephone consultations with patients presenting with a wide range of minor illness, urgent and same day requests for treatment and chronic disease management, providing care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.

You will need to demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills. You will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly making any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner.

A percentage of the role will involve the care of frailty patients including the responsibility of care of patients within care and nursing homes. This will include weekly ward rounds.

We have a highly skilled clinical team working across the sites, which include; six experienced GP's, nine Practice Nurses, six HCA's, two Phlebotomist's, nine Nurse Practitioner's, three Clinical Pharmacists', two Paramedic Practitioners and a Mental Health Nurse.
