Job summary

GP Partnership opportunity or Salaried GP with development opportunity towards Partnership, 6 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job

In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Normal duties includes surgery consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, emergencies, telephone consultations and signing repeat prescriptions, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations on behalf of the Practice, referral letters NHS and correspondence.

Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)

Teaching and training of doctors and nurses.

Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, annual QOF Assessment of the Practice.

Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation. Attending training, Practice Meetings and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.

About us

We are a very friendly rural practice with an expanding list size, currently 4850. Great Staughton is located five miles from St Neots with excellent transport links to the A1/A14. We were rated first for patient experience in the 2022 GP Patient Survey and we are lucky to have an excellent reputation.

Our team comprises one GP partner, two SGP one ANP, one Clinical Pharmacist, two PN and one HCA. We also have a visiting Midwife, Clinical Pharmacist, Social Prescriber, First Contact Physiotherapist and PRISM. We are supported by a full management and administration team, and are a Dispensing and Systmone practice.

We regularly welcome medical students from Cambridge University.

We are high QOF achievers and have a daily governance meeting, weekly clinical meetings and protected admin time.
