Job summary

Dr Vardhan's Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and committed GP to provide 6 sessions a week.

We currently work with:

· EMIS Web

· Docman 10

· Ask My GP

Main duties of the job

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including:

  • Face to Face consultations
  • Telephone consultations 
  • Home Visits
  • Signing repeat prescriptions
  • Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines
  • Dealing with queries
  • Lab results
  • Reviewing Docman/Clinical Letters
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to the agreed practice standards, including read coding

About us

Based in the village of Astley, we have a population of 3400 patients. The Surgery consists of a Principal GP,  Salaried GP, Practice nurse, Practice Manager and 5 medical receptionists.  

We also have additional roles via TABA + PCN these are:

1 Clinical Pharmacist 

1 First Contact MSK Physio

1 Paramedic 

1 Mental Health Practitioner

Job responsibilities

Reporting to:

The Practice GP Partner (clinically)

The Practice Manager (managerially)

Hours of work:

6 sessions per week (mon-fri) Negotiable for the right candidate

Location:

Dr Vardhan's Surgery, 10 Higher Green Lane, Tyldesley, Manchester

Annual leave:

6 weeks annual leave plus public/bank holidays 

(WTE pro rata)

Salary:

Current going rate - Depend on experience

Main purpose of the role:

The post-holder will support the partners in providing primary medical services, manage a caseload of patients and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients. This will include any administration associated with these patients, e.g. repeat prescribing, actioning results and Docman/Clinical letters. 

Clinical responsibilities:

  • Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to the agreed practice standards, including read coding
  • Conducting and supporting the practice with audits
  • In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care

Other responsibilities with the Practice:

· Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, Health and Safety, QOF, LCSs and other practice targets.

· Contributing to evaluation of clinical standard setting within the organisation

· Attendance at mandatory practice training, practice meetings and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
