Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Part Time Medical Receptionist to join our busy GP surgery. We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and well-motivated person who has experience working with the public, good IT skills to join our friendly reception team. Full training will be given to the right candidate.
The hours are 25 hours per week (5 hours per day) Monday to Friday between the hours of 08.00am and 6.30pm. But the ideal candidate must be able to work additional and flexible hours if required.
Duties will include greeting patients, booking and updating appointments, promoting on line services, scanning hospital letters, registering new patients, dealing with incoming calls, taking messages and dealing with general enquiries.
Full training will be given to the right candidate.

a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Action incoming emails when necessary
d. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
e. Signpost patients to the correct service using care navigation.
g. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
h. Photocopy documentation as required
i. Data entry of new registrations and relevant patient information as required
j. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
k. Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
l. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
n. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
o. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
p. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
q. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
r. Manage workflow tasks on a daily basis
