Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Physician Associate to join our PCN but working solely at Ayton & Snainton Medical
Practice. You will be
responsible for the provision of a clinical service, working as part of
the
practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within your scope of
practice
to our patient population. You will be required to work autonomously in the practice,
providing a
range of services such as assessment, diagnosis, treatment, telephone
triage,
clinical decision-making and referring patients appropriately, as well
as
supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and
procedure when required.
Main duties of the job
You will
provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking and
clinical assessment through to the diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You will be able to demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making
process, including assessment and diagnostic skills, leading to the delivery of
safe care for all patients. Working collaboratively with the healthcare
team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and
procedures. You will provide a holistic and clinical service, with support from
GPs as required, implementing agreed management plans and following approved
protocols as appropriate. You may be expected to carry out
some home visits and consult with patients who present on the day and via
booked appointments. You will also review and act appropriately on blood
results and referrals/correspondence regarding patients.

We have a list size of 9000
patients and have a CQC rating of good in all areas. We are also a dispensing practice. Although this post is advertised as a PCN asdditional role inititiative we expect that you will be based and work at Ayton & Snainton Medical Practice although there may be scope to work with neighbouring PCN practices if required.

delegated authority from the supervising doctors who have responsibility for
the patient. This delegation does not relieve the supervising doctors from the
responsibility of continued care. The PA would be expected in time to
participate in the duty rota at the practice.
Mentorship and
supervision will be provided by designated senior medical personnel. The level
and type of supervision will be dependent on the post holders acquisition of
skills and knowledge and determined by the organizations clinical governance
arrangements. The practice hold monthly education meetings and the PA would be
expected to attend and partake in these.

- Experience of working as a physician associate although newly qualified physicians will be considered.
