Job summary

We are recruiting a salaried GP to join our friendly and growing team located in Hounslow and Ealing for 4 to 8 sessions per week.

The role involves sessions in our busy, proactive 11,000 patient APMS GP surgery in Isleworth and sessions for our award winning Care Home Service. The Argyle Care Home Service provides enhanced primary care services for over 1000 patients in nursing homes and care homes within the Ealing and Acton area. This service operates 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

This exciting and varied role is supported by a large team of GPs, ANP's, practice nurses, HCAs, phlebotomists, administrators, managers and a multiple award winning Pharmacy Team made up of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy apprentices.

The post holder will be a highly qualified and experienced General Practitioner, having worked in Primary Care and/or other healthcare settings. The post holder will be GMC Registered, not subject to suspension, currently on a CCG performers list with a clear enhanced DBS check. They will have an understanding of NHS Systems, QOF and Enhanced Services.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a Primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. To deliver clinical care to the patients registered with all services. To work closely with the clinical leads and management teams to support the delivery of the organisational operational plans. The GP is expected to work as part of a cohesive team and, when necessary, take lead responsibility for issues outside their immediate sphere of responsibility.

The main duties of the role are:

  • To provide clinical care to patients, this will include consultation sessions in surgeries across the group and Nursing Home settings, telephone triage, clinical administration, medicals, reports, multi-disciplinary team meetings including internal and external management meetings .
  • To work closely with the Argyle Health Group care team in delivering clinical care
  • Working with colleagues to support the delivery of the Argyle Health Group operational plan including list growth, KPIs and cost management and other contractual requirements for services provided by the Argyle Health Group.
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems

  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness

  • Inclusion in a 1:8 on call weekend rota to answer and triage clinical queries for The Nursing Home Service.

We run two GP practices serving over 21,000 patients, we provide enhanced primary care services for around 1000 patients in nursing homes and care homes. In addition, we provide prescription services and phlebotomy services across the London boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow.

We have a strong training and development ethos. In addition to being a teaching practice for GP registrars, we train pre-registered Pharmacists, we have an apprenticeship programme for Pharmacy Technicians, we train nurses and health care assistants.

We are based in the suburbs of London with excellent transport links including two cross rail stations, close proximity to Heathrow airport, multiple underground and mainline links to central London. There is a good range of private as well as affordable shared ownership accommodation in close proximity to our sites.
