friendly Practice Team.

Surgery is a busy expanding rural practice, situated in the pretty village of
Corby Glen, which is approximately 15 minutes from Bourne & 20 minutes from
Grantham

Previous Experience of working as a Practice Nurse in General Practice is essential, including treatment room duties and chronic disease management
Part-time hours. The working pattern will be arranged to meet the needs of the practice, in addition, some evening and weekend work is required on a rota basis
A high degree of flexibility is essential to cover periods of leave within the nursing team, sometimes at short notice
Salary - Commensurate to reflect qualifications and experience
Main duties of the job
- The Practice Nurse will work both autonomously and as part of the Primary Healthcare Team in providing General Medical Services to the patients of the Practice. This will include the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with a range of acute, non-acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Promote preventative care, screening and patient education
- Perform and assist in clinical nursing duties using expert knowledge, clinical skills and agreed protocols to deliver a holistic based approach to patient care
- Provide general and specific health screening and education to patients (within agreed protocols); referring to the GPs, Triage Nurse and/or secondary care as necessary
- Assess and treat minor injuries; referring to the GPs, Triage Nurse and/or secondary care as necessary. This may include treating and assessing patients who are not registered patients of the practice
- Chronic Disease Management
- Perform Treatment Room duties as outlined in the attached job description
- Up-to-Date NMC Registration, ensuring renewal at appropriate time
- Medical Indemnity funded by practice

- Undertake the collection, storage and despatch of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears etc. and ensure the cleanliness of any equipment so used in line with the Infection Control Policy
- Perform any investigatory procedures requested by the GPs
- Wound/ulcer care
- Blood pressure checks
- Urinalysis
- Health screening
- Dietary advice
- Ear syringing

- Routine injections

Surgeries may also
run late due to unforeseen circumstances, therefore, it may be necessary to
stay beyond your contracted finish time, if this circumstance arises
