Job summary

The ideal candidate will be well organised, understand the role of a supervisory role and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The role will include covering all reception  duties as required, but also working alongside the existing reception lead to manage the day to day running of the department, training and developing staff as well as implementing new procedures

Main duties of the job

To provide daily management of the reception team and work closely with the existing reception lead to ensure that the reception team provide a high level of customer service to its patients. To promote, train and support a highly efficient productive team that offers a caring professional front of house for the practice

About us

Newbury Street Practice is a friendly and supportive GP practice, providing a high standard of care to 15,500 patients. The Practice is located in Wantage, a lovely market town. We are based in a modern, pleasant building with good car parking facilities for both staff and patients. An expansion to the building is anticipated to start in the near future and provide new waiting area facilities and clinical rooms.

This role will also involve working some evenings 6.30pm-8pm and some Saturdays (Hours TBC).

Job responsibilities

To work with the existing reception lead in leading, managing, training and developing the reception team, ensuring an efficient and professional service is maintained for all patients and visitors

To support effective administration systems, communication mechanisms and procedures are in place to support the work of the practice and the doctors, nurses, management team and other colleagues

To work with the existing reception lead in ensuring that all reception related duties are carried out promptly and efficiently and participate in the work within both the reception  and management team

To act as a role model, demonstrating and promoting the standards expected by the practice and creating the energy and enthusiasm for the service
