Job summary

West Merton PCN are looking for a dynamic, caring qualified Paramedic to join our two Practice PCN. We are located between Raynes Park and Wimbledon and serve a shared population size of around 50,000 patients.

Our ideal candidate would be able to work Monday-Friday 10am-3pm for home visits of our housebound populations. This would include acute visiting (same day need) and routine planning.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are:

  • Offering a caring and compassionate service to those patients unable to attend the Practice
  • Acute and routine home visits
  • Care planning
  • GP support in Practice

Job responsibilities

Paramedics are authorised to undertake treatments and procedures for which they are trained, and which are within the College of Paramedic Guidelines in line with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) standards framework. The postholder will have access to appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the PCN to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.

To deliver a high standard of patient care using advanced autonomous clinical skills with in-depth theoretical knowledge and evidence-based practice working with the support and guidance from the GPs and other Independent clinicians working within the PCN MDT.

To manage a clinical caseload and deal with presenting patients needs in both a PCN and general practice setting.

To provide clinical leadership where appropriate within the MDT, supporting other members of the team to develop and maintain clinical skills appropriate to your role and expertise.

  • BSc in a training programme approved by the College of Paramedics
  • Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration

Desirable

  • Non-Medical prescribing qualification (not essential)
  • Evidence of verification against the paramedic primary care roadmap (not essential)
  • Membership of the College of Paramedics (not essential)
