Job summary
- The Patient Services Supervisor is responsible for:
Supporting the Office Manager in overseeing the administrative tasks of the department, ensuring the patient services team achieve their primary responsibilities
Concentrating on coordinating the repeat prescriptions process and becoming an expert in this function ensuring targets are met and liaising with patients, clinician and appropriate stakeholders as required
Completing staff appraisals and return-to-work interviews as required
Identifying and delivering team training where required
Providing initial guidance and advice to patients who wish to verbally complain
Managing all deliveries to the practice, ensuring adherence to the cold chain policy as necessary
Acting as building fire marshal, ensuring evacuation lists are current and that the visitors log is used appropriately
Supporting the patient services team with reception duties and call handling depending on demand
Experience and a working knowledge of primary care and the EMIS IT system would be an advantage but not essential
