We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Nurse
Practitioner (ANP) to join our Same Day Access Service team. This role focuses
on providing prompt, high-quality care to patients requiring urgent but not
emergency attention.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess,
manage, and treat a range of acute medical presentations. You will contribute
to ensuring rapid access to care and supporting the overall effectiveness of
the wider healthcare service.
Main duties of the job
Patient Assessment & Care
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients presenting with acute illness or injury.
- Deliver appropriate treatment, management plans, and clinical interventions within your scope of practice.
- Prioritise patient needs based on clinical urgency and safety.
Coordination & Referral
- Collaborate with GPs, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and smooth transition of care.
- Refer patients to relevant services, specialists, or emergency departments in line with clinical pathways.
Patient Education & Support
- Provide clear, tailored information to patients and families about condition management, medication use, and safety-netting advice.
- Offer guidance on lifestyle improvements and when to seek further medical attention.
Documentation & Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal, professional, and organisational standards.
- Record all patient interactions using appropriate systems and coding protocols.
Professional Development
- Engage in continuous professional development, reflective practice, and relevant training to stay up to date with clinical best practice and protocols.

- Strong diagnostic and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage risk and make informed clinical decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with EMIS clinical system.
- Proficient in digital tools such as Accurx and Docman.
Desirable
- Previous experience in Same Day Access or Urgent Care Services.
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent experience).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and ideally Immediate Life Support (ILS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS).
