Job summary
The
Lennard Surgery is a long established, stable and highly respected practice in
Bedminster Down, South Bristol. As a teaching and training practice, with
further involvement in research and innovative patient delivery methods, we are
looking for a nurse to join our team.
This is a part time role of 24 hours per week, preferably over 3 days. Overtime is available.
We
have a clinical team of 9 GPs, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 additional Nurses,
2 HCAs and a Phlebotomist. This role will supplement the skills mix through
treatment room activities such as cervical smears, childrens immunisations,
wound care and others listed below.
You will obviously have a current NMC registration
and experience in working within a GP surgery is essential. A flexible approach
to working is required, especially to cover early morning or evening sessions.
Main duties of the job
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
To provide high quality patient care
Participate in setting standards for care and auditing
clinical outcomes
Perform
the administration and education of all types of Immunisations including
travel, seasonal vaccinations, childhood
Able to provide health education advice around
diet/smoking/lifestyle/sexual health
Assist the Clinical Services Manager in the
maintenance of equipment and stock levels relating to patient care.
Undertake the collection, storage and despatch of
pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears etc
and ensure the cleanliness of any equipment so used. Perform any investigatory
procedures requested by other clinicians.
The post-holder will assist in the implementation
and management of appropriate health and safety and infection control policies,
as defined in the practice Health & Safety policy, Health & Safety
manual, Infection Control policy and other published procedures.
Support the equality, diversity and rights of
patients, carers and colleagues
Accountable to own professional development and
performance and act as a role model to others
